CBS-58‘s Racine & Me, a Sunday morning TV show, got word that Evie Kalmar with Unplugged Artist Event Planning hosts monthly group shoots and invited her to bring a small group of photographers, models and Hair & Make-up artist into their studios in Milwaukee to show them what these group shoots are all about.  We were honored to be asked to be one of six photographers to take part out of the 40-50 photographers that regularly attend.

The theme for this shoot was Hollywood starlet.  The models wore gorgeous custom dresses of RFD by Rachel Frank.  We decided to really showcase the different areas of the studio.  We used the green screen to do some creative composites, which were taken in a “weather” theme (since the green screen is used for their weather segment.)

Here are some Behind the Scenes showing us in the studio hard at work, followed by some images that resulted.

As you can tell, the shooting space was rather tight.  With six models and six photographers, as well as assistants, we were constantly shooting through each other.  The interesting thing about these group shoots, is while you could think they could get very tense, we’ve found a group that is very supportive of each other.  Photography can really get fairly cut throat, but instead we help elevate our art and share settings and ideas with each other.

Here are some of our favorites from this shoot.  And while we only had 15 to 30 minutes with each model, we were able to really create something special.  Which one is your favorite?

Thank you for stopping by!  Let us know what you think in the comments.  Stay tuned for more exciting group shoots!

With love,

Katja Wright
